Traditional ruler of Isuofia community, country home of a former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, Aguata Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra, Igwe Christopher Moughalu, retired Army Colonel, said the community would embark on a spiritual cleansing of their Civil Centre, following the killing of three policemen in the facility.
Igwe Muoghalu, in a statement released to newsmen by the Palace Secretary, Mr Chukwujekwu Orajiuka, condemned the killing of the policemen and the kidnap of now released state Commissioner for Public Utilities Mr Emeka Ezenwanne.
“The police officers were killed in the facility when gunmen stormed the venue while the former CBN governor, Prof. Soludo, was having an interactive session with the youths of the community.
“The Igwe mourns the gallant security personnel, whose life was cut short brutally; and the kidnap of now released high-profile son of Isuofia, Emeka Ezenwanne as the desecration of the common heritage of our people, Ezumezu Isuofia as well as the bad intentions of the contrivers of this attack on our son, Prof. Soludo.
The traditional ruler condoles with Prof. Soludo, while encouraging him as an incoming governor to be unwavering in his pursuits as the land of Isuofia has appended its blessings and approval.
The traditional institution enjoined the police to intensify manhunt for the perpetrators through honest investigations of the sad event.
It said the Executive Council of Isuofia People’s Assembly, the Isuofia Women Council and the relevant institutions to embark on the cleansing of the temple of `our fathers’ — the Civic Centre.
