IPOB leader uses Twitter to wreck havoc and disunity in Nigeria – Presidency says

Amidst varying uproar over the ban on Twitter in Nigeria, the Presidency has said that the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu uses the Twitter platform to wreck havoc and disunity in Nigeria.

This disclosure was made by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed at an interview with BBC News Africa.

According to the Minister, the IPOB leader, who doesn’t reside in Nigeria uses Twitter to issue directives to his members to raid attacks on Federal Government property and service men.

The minister also bemoamed that Twitter has failed to sanction the IPOB leader for using the platform to destabilize Nigeria.

He said:

“IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu in particular, his platform of choice to destabilise the country is Twitter.

“Twitter is actually the platform of choice for the separatist leader who resides outside Nigeria but issues directives for his members to attack the symbols of authority such as policemen, soldiers, correctional centres, electoral offices.

“This has been done willfully and consistently without consequences using always the Twitter platform.”
