Just recently, the federal government of Nigeria made a disclosure that the ban on the microblogging site, Twitter, will be reversed when the company is duly registered, licensed, and operates within regulations stipulated in Nigeria.
According to reports from Channels TV, the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed this on Wednesday, June 9, after the meeting of the federal executive council.
He decried that the ban has been effective so far, with the reports of Twitter’s huge financial losses running into billions.
Also The Cable reported that Mohammed reiterated his claims that the microblogging site has been a platform of choice for separatists to thrive.
The minister, however refrained from answering questions that were thrown to him about the law under which Nigerians who violate the ban would be prosecuted.
In other words shifting the responsibility by saying the attorney general of the federation would provide answers to the question.
