After the divorce announcements, the media has speculated about how Bill’s $146 billion estate will be divided.

According to recent reports from Nairametrics, Bill Gates’ Cascade Investment, a holding company he created with proceeds from his Microsoft Corporation, transferred shares worth more than $1.8 billion to Melinda Gates.

  • Canadian National Railway Co. has 14.1 million shares worth $1.5 billion.
  • AutoNation Inc. owns 2.94 million shares worth $309 million.

Melinda Gates is on her way to becoming the next in a long line of women who became billionaires overnight after divorcing their husbands.
