The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba said steps have been taken by Anambra State Government to stem recent attacks on security personnel across the state.
“We are not just watching the situation standing at akimbo. Things are under control in the state.
The decisive steps will not be publicly announced but the steps are yielding results,’’ he stated this at the funeral of late Igwe (Dr) Cyril Nwabunwanne Enweze at his palace in Umuoji.
He said that the police recently arrested eight suspects, believed to be involved in the attack of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, a leading All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Governorship aspirant in the next Gubernatorial election, who was attacked on March 31.
“Whatever has happened, we are not losing our glory. Anambra State still remains the most peaceful in the country,’’ he stressed.
He described the last Ofala as an eloquent testament to the great accomplishments and character of the Igwe Enweze, who, “I am proud to call my friend even in death.
“He was the most accomplished technocrat. He played on the global stage and ended up being good to the ordinary people of his home town, who made him their traditional ruler.
“He was epitome of selfless service, who served his people with his heart, mind, soul and might,’’ said Adinuba.
